Description
LetOspan-2.5 contains letrozole, a third-generation aromatase inhibitor used for ovulation induction in anovulatory women with PCOS and as a first-line treatment in infertility management.
LetOspan-2.5 works by transiently inhibiting the enzyme aromatase, which reduces estrogen synthesis and triggers compensatory FSH release from the pituitary. This promotes dominant follicle development and ovulation. As a Schedule H prescription drug, it must be administered under the supervision of a cancer specialist, gynecologist, or institution. Unlike clomiphene, letrozole has a shorter half-life and does not exert anti-estrogenic effects on the endometrium, resulting in better implantation outcomes.
Benefits
- Effective first-line ovulation induction agent
- Better endometrial thickness compared to clomiphene
- Shorter half-life with fewer anti-estrogenic side effects
- Promotes mono-follicular development reducing multiple pregnancy risk
- Proven efficacy in PCOS-related anovulation
Indications
Anovulatory infertility, PCOS with ovulation dysfunction, Unexplained infertility, Adjuvant to IUI cycles, Ovulation induction in hypogonadotropic hypogonadism
